31% of Ethereum node activity concentrated in US

Alexander Neumüller from the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance reported that 31% of Ethereum node activity is based in the United States, primarily on Hetzner, AWS, and OVH. He noted that if over one-third of validators go offline at once, it could lead to failures in finalizing checkpoints. In 2022, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission indicated that it could claim jurisdiction over Ethereum due to the high concentration of nodes in the U.S.
